It's Great to Have Help
It had been a some time since I met this young man. We first met when I arrived on Tsushima and I started the Nature School with my wife. He knew about the school but did not really want to come even with his mother's encouragement. However, we would still see each other from time to time and maintained friendly relationship.
It has now been 5 years later since we met and I had been praying that God would give me an opportunity to run into him and ask for his help. One day, as I was driving, I saw him and invited him to assist me with the farm project. I did not know what his answer would be. The timing was perfect. He was at a point in his life where he wanted to do something different and the farming project was just the right thing for him to do.
He is a very hard working young man, and although it was a lot of work and we did it together. We prepared the soil to plant 4,000 strawberries.
Working on the farm has been helpful to both of us. When God created Adam and Eve, He placed them in a garden to work it and tend it. There is something special about working with the soil. It draws us back to the days of creation when man and God were in harmony before sin came into the picture. Farming has been healing for him and gives us opportunities to see God at work in nature.
Nature is God's physician. The pure air, the glad sunshine, the beautiful flowers and trees, the orchards and vineyards, and outdoor exercise amid these surroundings, are health-giving-the elixir of life. Outdoor life is the only medicine that many invalids (those who are ill) need. Its influence is powerful to heal sickness caused by fashionable life, a life that weakens and destroys the physical, mental, and spiritual powers.

Please continue to pray for this ministry as we use nature to connect people like this young man to God and let them know of Christ's redeeming love and sacrifice.
